How to Make Cinnamon Apple Pork Chops

Season the pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Place the seasoned pork chops in the skillet and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are nicely browned and cooked through. The internal temperature of the pork should reach 145°F. Remove pork chops, set aside and keep warm.

apples with brown sugar and apple cider in a pan

Sprinkle the brown sugar and apple cider over the apples in the skillet. Stir to combine and allow the sugar to melt and caramelize for about 1-2 minutes.

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for another 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Remove from heat, add the pork chops in and mix together. Serve and enjoy!

    Oven Method

If you’d prefer to bake your apple cinnamon pork chops, sear the pork chops in a skillet. Add sliced apple on bottom of 9X13 baking dish. Add pork chops on top. Combine seasonings, melted butter and apple cider in a bowl and pour over top. Cover and bake at 400 degrees F for about 20-30 minutes or until pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F.

    Recipe Tips

    • Choose the right cut of pork: you can use either boneless or bone-in pork chops.
    • Season pork chops generously before cooking.
    • Sear pork chops for a beautiful caramelized exterior.
    • Pair with sides such as steamed green beans, roasted sweet potatoes, creamy mashed potatoes or a green salad.

    FAQs

How do you know when your pork chops are cooked through?

Check their internal temperature by inserting the thermometer into the thickest part of the chop without touching any bones. If it reaches 145°F they are good to eat, if not cook a little longer until they do.

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?

I would not suggest making this recipe ahead of time. It’s best to enjoy these Apple Cinnamon Pork Chops right after cooking them for maximum flavor and juiciness.
