Slow Cooker Pork Chops are great to make because the slow cooker does most of the work for you even cooks the side dishes. I love to prepare ahead of time such as cutting up the potatoes and getting canned goods out the night before that way it’s ready to go in the morning.
Recipe Tips & Variations
- To cut down on cooking time brown the pork chops in a pan before putting them in the slow cooker and reduce the slow cooker cook time or cook on high.
- Can use fresh, frozen or canned green beans.
- If you want thicker gravy, you can a little bit of cornstarch to the mix.
- All slow cookers cook different so be sure to adjust times according to your model and make sure the internal temperature of the pork chops is at 145 degrees F.
The Best Pork Chop Cuts
To ensure you get the juiciest, tender and best tasting pork chops you want to make sure you get the right cut. There are several different kinds of cuts of pork chops but the best ones to use for this recipe would be boneless or bone-in.
- Boneless Pork Loin Chops – this is the most popular cut as they have no bones and little to no fat. When cooked right they have juiciest flavor and the most tender piece of meat.
- Bone-In Pork Chops – this is a thick cut of meat where the bone helps hold the most flavor. They take longer to cook but easier to work with.
