Halloween Party Recipe
Halloween is just around the corner and if you’re anything like me, you’re already planning the biggest party of the year.
One of my favorite parts of Halloween parties is seeing everyone dressed up in costumes, but the best part is making the drinks and food. I want my guests to gasp when they walk in, so the spookier and gorier the better.
Although this Halloween punch is tailored for the grown-ups, a version suitable for kids can be made by omitting the alcohol.
Grab your cauldron and get ready for a hauntingly good time.
If you’re looking for spooky Halloween treats to go with your bloody punch, try these Raw Meat Rice Krispie Treats or Blood Splatter Cookies. Both are a fun addition to the dessert table.

Recipe Tips
- Use a blood-red base: To achieve that creepy, red hue in your punch, try using cranberry juice or pomegranate juice as the base. These deep red juices will give your punch a sinister look that is perfect for Halloween.
- Chill before serving: For maximum refreshment, make sure to chill your punch thoroughly before serving it at your Halloween party. Try freezing some of the fruit juice into ice cubes beforehand to keep punch chilled but also infuse it with even more flavor as they slowly melt.
- Add dry ice for an extra touch of spookiness: If you want to take your Halloween punch to the next level, consider adding some dry ice. This will create a smoky effect that is sure to wow your guests. Read our safety tips below to know how to handle it.
Where to Find Dry Ice
Dry ice can be found in most grocery stores. Be sure to check yours before heading there. Purchase a few hours before the party as dry ice does not last long in freezer.
Dry Ice Safety Tips
If you plan on using dry ice in your spooky punch there are a few things to know beforehand. Here are some tips for handling dry ice safely:
- Always handle dry ice with gloves or tongs to avoid direct contact with your skin. Dry ice is extremely cold (-78.5°C/-109°F) and can cause frostbite if not handled properly.
- Never swallow or ingest dry ice as it can cause internal injuries due to its extreme cold temperature. Make sure dry ice is completely dissolved in drink before consuming.
- Do not seal any containers containing dry ice completely shut, as this could cause pressure buildup and potential explosion hazards.
- If you’re using large blocks of dry ice, make sure they are broken down into smaller pieces before adding them to your punch bowl. You only need a few pieces to make the fog effect.
Unique Ways to Serve Halloween Punch
- Potion Bottles: Fill empty, clean potion bottles with the punch or place by the punch bowl for guests to fill and drink out of.
- Skull Shaped Goblets: These are super fun to drink out of and adds an extra touch of macabre elegance.
- In a Pitcher: Mix the punch into the pitcher for easy pouring. Decorate with a label that says “Poison” or “Witch’s Brew”.
- Witch’s Cauldron: Fill a large black cauldron with dry ice and pour your blood-red punch over it. Make sure guests wait until the dry ice is dissolved before consuming.
- IV Bags: These are creepy yet fun way to serve party punch and have guests drink from them. You can even put the IV labels on them to make them look like realistic blood bags.
