This innovative kitchen gadget has taken the dessert world by storm, allowing you to create creamy and delicious frozen treats from ice cream to frozen yogurt in the comfort of your own home.
And today, I’m going to show you how to make an absolute classic: Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream.
It’s a flavor that everyone loves and the Ninja Creami makes it incredibly easy to make.
Ingredients
- Whole milk
- Heavy cream
- Cream cheese, softened
- Sugar
- Mint extract (not to be confused with peppermint extract)
- Chocolate chips
- Green food coloring
How to Make Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami
In a bowl mix combine sugar and softened cream cheese.
Add in heavy cream and whisk together. Then add in whole milk, food coloring, mint extract and whisk together.
Pour into a Ninja Cream container. Place lid on top and put in freezer for 24 hours.
The next day, take out of freezer, remove lid and put base on Ninja Creami. Select ICE CREAM until shuts off.
Remove from the machine and make a divot in the center of the ice cream and pour in chocolate chips. Put the base back on the Ninja Creami and select MIX-IN.
Once finished, remove the pint from the machine and enjoy!
The results are delicious and so much better than traditional ice cream. I will probably never go back to store bought ice cream again.
Ninja Creami or Ninja Creami Deluxe?
Both the Ninja Creami and the Ninja Creami Deluxe can be used to make this mint chocolate chip ice cream recipe.
The main difference between the two models is that the Deluxe has additional features (11 compared to 7) but both work the same. The choice is up to you when choosing on which one to purchase if you haven’t already or to use.
Helpful Tips and Recipe Variations
- Swap chocolate chips with crushed Oreo cookies.
- Add different mix-ins such as nuts, sprinkles, etc.
- If needed, let it soften a few minutes before serving.
- If ice cream is crumbly after the ICE CREAM function, you can put it back on the Ninja Creami and select RE-SPIN. Or add a splash of milk and select RE-SPIN again.
How to Store
Place remaining leftovers in the freezer for up to one week.
