Ham and Cheese Sliders

I grew up on ham and swiss sliders as they were a quick and easy meal to put together on busy nights and a family favorite. They also make a great appetizer and the perfect finger food for a party and done in 30 minutes!

This is my mom’s famous recipe we use all the time. Normally we use regular hamburger buns and wrap them up individually in foil but I wanted to try it with sliders. They turned out great and super easy to do. I think you will enjoy them too!

Recipe Tips & Variations

  • Can substitute Italian seasoning for poppy seeds.
  • A great way to use up leftover sliced baked ham.
  • You can use any type of buns for this recipe. I prefer Hawaiian sweet rolls cause they compliment the ham and swiss.
  • This recipe is also great with turkey either deli sliced or leftover turkey.
  • Store remaining leftovers in fridge for 2-3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

Slider Ingredients

Makes 12 sliders

1 lb sliced deli ham
1/4 cup mustard
1/2 cup butter, softened
8 oz Swiss cheese slices
12 Hawaiian rolls
1/4 cup onion, diced
Italian seasoning to taste

How to Make Ham and Cheese Sliders

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Spray the bottom of a casserole dish with cooking spray. Cut sliders in half and place the bottoms in the casserole dish.

In a bowl, mix together softened butter, mustard and onions then spread over the bottom buns. Save some mixture for the top buns.

Place 2 layers of ham over top the buns overlapping the pieces of ham.

Cut the swiss cheese pieces in half and place them on top of the ham.

Spread the butter, mustard and onion mixture on the top buns and place on top of the ham and cheese.

Brush a thin layer of the mixture over top the buns and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.

When finished cooking, cut the sliders apart with a knife. Serve warm and enjoy!
