This Baked Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham is the best ham you’ll ever have that’s sweet, tender, juicy and goes great with your favorite side dishes!

    Baked Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham

Make the most flavorful baked ham you have ever tasted by following this Baked Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham recipe. It’s the perfect main entrée to serve on holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter and special occasions!

how to make Baked Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham

This Baked Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham recipe takes the average ham to the next level. If you are tired of having bland ham for holiday dinners with the family, you will enjoy baking the meat with a brown sugar glaze for ham. The added glaze gives the ham more flavor. The sweet taste of the sugar glaze goes well with the meat. It is so good that you will not even need to dip the ham into any additional sauces because the glaze is enough.

    Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham

You can prepare the Baked Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham with minimal ingredients, including brown sugar, honey, and apple cider vinegar to name a few. Most of the ingredients required to prepare this baked ham are ingredients that you probably already have at home and can easily use to give your ham that added sweet touch that perfects it. While the recipe calls for pineapple rings, you can use crushed pineapple if that is all you have available and the ham will still turn out good.

How to Store Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham

After preparing your baked ham, slice it down and save pieces of it in an airtight food container. You can keep the ham slices in the fridge for up to four days. If you have a lot of leftovers and want to make sure that your Baked Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham will not go bad, add it to the airtight container and put it in the freezer. Extra ham will stay good for up to four months when frozen, which gives you more than enough time to reheat it and eat it.

    Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham Ingredients

    8-10lb ham
    2 cups brown sugar
    1 cup honey
    1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
    1 teaspoon ground cloves
    800mL pineapple rings
    1 cup maraschino cherries

How to Make a Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham

    Preheat oven to 325F.

Soak a small handful of toothpicks in warm water.

Use a sharp knife to score a grid-like pattern into the ham, about ½” to 1” into the ham. Place the ham in a roasting pan or baking tray.

In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard and cloves. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until melted and completely combined – the brown sugar should not appear gritty at all.

Pour half of the brown sugar mixture over the ham and use a basting brush to ensure the syrup is coated all over the ham.

Using the soaked toothpicks, secure the pineapple rings all over the ham.

Place ½ cup of water in the roasting tray and cover the ham with tinfoil. Bake the ham for 1 hour.

Place the brown sugar mixture back over the heat and continue cooking until reduced by half, stirring occasionally.

Remove the ham from the oven and remove the tinfoil. Pour the remaining syrup over the ham and return back to the oven.

Baste or brush the ham with the syrup every 15 minutes, continuing to bake for 1 more hour, until ham reaches an internal temperature of 145F.

For a crispier skin, you can increase the heat to 400F for the last 10-15 minutes of baking.

Before serving, remove the toothpicks and insert a maraschino cherry into the center of each pineapple ring.
