    Sloppy Joe Cheese Fries

Sloppy Joes are one of the easiest meals to make but have you ever used it as a topping for fries? Don’t knock it till you try this because it’s actually delicious and will be gobbled up in seconds!

how to make Sloppy Joe Cheese Fries

French fries are an American classic that everyone loves. Some eat them plain, others like toppings or dip them in their favorite sauce. Make a great batch of these cheese fries topped with sloppy joe as an appetizer for your next football party or any gathering.

I tend to make homemade sloppy joes more often verses using Manwich because my family likes it better but if you don’t have much time a canned sloppy joe sauce will work also. Just omit the ingredients for the sauce in the recipe if you do so. Enjoy!

    What is Sloppy Joe?

Sloppy Joe is usually a sandwich that consists of ground beef, onions, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and other seasonings, served on a bun. But in this recipe we took the sloppy joe mix and used it as a topping for fries.

    What to Serve with Fries

Fries are a great addition to any sandwich but can also go with other meals. Here are some of our favorite:

    • Loaded Beer Can Burgers
    • Baked Mozzarella & Parmesan Meatball Sliders
    • Instant Pot BBQ Chicken Wings

    • Garlic, minced
    • Brown sugar

    • Pepper
    • Red pepper flakes
    • Hot sauce
    • Ground beef
    • Onion, diced
    • Frozen French fries
    • Shredded Monterrey jack cheese
    • Green onion for garnish

How to Make Sloppy Joe Cheese Fries

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Grease a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and spread the French fries in an even layer over the sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, until crispy and golden brown.

While the fries are cooking, mix the sauce by combining the ketchup, water, garlic, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and hot sauce. Set aside.

Brown the ground beef with the chopped onions in a large skillet over medium heat. When the beef is cooked through, add the sauce and stir to coat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, until sauce begins to reduce.

When the fries are cooked, remove from oven and top with half the shredded cheese. Sprinkle the sloppy Joe mixture over the top of the fries and top with remaining cheese.

Bake for five to 10 more minutes, until cheese is melted. Top with chopped green onion as garnish before serving.
