How to Make Christmas Sugar Cookie Bars
Preheat oven to 350° and line a 9×13 baking dish with aluminum foil or parchment paper leaving some hanging off the sides so you can pull it out of the baking dish easier. Lightly spray the foil with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, beat together butter, cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract, almond extract and eggs and mix again using a hand mixer.
In a medium sized bowl mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powder and salt. Combine the flour mixture 1/2 cup at a time to the cream cheese mixture, carefully beating it in between adding.
Spoon the batter into the prepared baking dish. Grease your hands to prevent sticking and flatten and even out the batter all around. Bake for 22-24 minutes or until the toothpick comes clean when inserted in the middle. Allow bars to cool completely.
Prepare the frosting by beating the butter until soft and fluffy, mix in the cream cheese and beat again. Add in salt and vanilla extract, mix again. Add the powdered sugar 1/2 a cup at a time while mixing on low.
Frost the bars and top with sprinkles. Pull the foil or parchment paper out the baking dish, slice and serve!
