Thanks to the air fryer, breakfast has become incredibly convenient. Nowadays, you can use it to cook almost anything, including pizza, a whole turkey, and even desserts.

One breakfast classic that has stood the test of time is French toast sticks. Since I was a kid, I’ve always had a soft spot for these delicious treats. With their golden crispy exterior and soft, fluffy interior, it’s hard not to love them.

But here’s the best part: French toast sticks aren’t just limited to breakfast. They can be enjoyed as a snack, a dessert, or even as part of a brunch spread. Their versatility makes them a delightful treat for people of all ages, any time of day.

Cooking French toast sticks in the air fryer takes things to a whole new level. There are several reasons why it’s a game changer. First and foremost, they turn out even crispier than when cooked by traditional methods. Additionally, they cook evenly throughout, leaving no soggy or undercooked parts.

Plus, it’s a time-efficient process, allowing you to whip up a batch in no time. And when it comes to cleanup, it’s a breeze. No need to dirty multiple pans for this recipe.

Now, while this particular recipe doesn’t call for milk, you have the option to add one cup of milk to the mixture if you’d like. However, I must say, they taste absolutely fantastic even without it.

Tips for Air Frying French Toast

    • Line your air fryer with parchment paper or air fryer liners but not while it’s preheating. I like to use these air fryer liners as they work great to cook the food and make clean up a breeze.
    • Cook french toast sticks in a single layer to make sure they all cook evenly.
    • Choose bread that is slightly stale or a day old so the bread can absorb the mixture better and not make it too soggy.
    • Cut bread into sticks of equal thickness for even cooking and consistent texture.
    • Flip halfway through to ensure even browning on both sides.

What to Serve with Air Fried French Toast Sticks

French toast sticks go great with other breakfast foods such as bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, yogurt parfait or fruit. As far as toppings for french toast sticks, maple syrup, butter, chocolate syrup, powdered sugar and peanut butter are all delicious options.
