These Homemade Air Fryer Pop Tarts have a delicious buttery, flaky crust and strawberry filling that’s great for breakfast and ready in 10 minutes!
Homemade food tastes so much better than store bought. It is fresher, healthier, and better for us. While some may think that making it from scratch takes longer that is not always the case. This recipe is so simple to make and can be made with a variety of fillings such as blueberries, raspberries and more. You can serve them warm if you want and even make a few batches up ahead of time for throughout the week and pop in the toaster when ready to eat.
For this recipe I used my favorite Ninja Foodi air fryer or you can use any air fryer that you already have. Using an air fryer will cut down the cooking time, tastes better and be healthier.
Ingredients
Makes 4 Pop Tarts
1 cup strawberries
⅛ cup white sugar
I package rolled unbaked pie crust (2 in package)
½ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Sprinkles
How to Make Homemade Air Fryer Pop Tarts
In a microwavable bowl, mix the strawberries and sugar and place in the microwave for 5 minutes. Stir. Put back in for another 2 minutes. The filling should now look like a jelly (a runny one). Let it cool for at least 30 minutes.
Roll out dough sheets and cut each one into a large square. From there, create 4 equal squares per sheet.
Add about a tablespoon of filling to the top of 4 of the pastry sheets.
Place the tops on each of the 4 bottoms with filling and take a fork to press in around the edges.
Spray each pop tart front and back with a nonstick spray and cook in the air fryer for 7-10 minutes. Check them for browning, you do not want to burn them, but you do want them a golden color. When done, place on cooling rack for 30-45 minutes.
Mix lemon juice and powdered sugar to drizzle for icing. Add sprinkles. Enjoy!
