    These Apple Pie Bites are easy as pie to make in the air fryer!  Crispy air-fried dough with warm, gooey apple filling is irresistible. These bite-sized treats are perfect for snacking or serving as a dessert and can be easily customized with different types of pie filling and spices.

    Air Fryer Apple Pie Bites

    If you are looking for a delicious and easy dessert idea that will have everyone asking for seconds these Air Fryer Apple Pie Bombs are perfect!

    We love this apple pie bites recipe because it is so quick and easy to make in the air fryer. The dough is already prepped, and all you have to do is fill it with your favorite type of pie filling and spices. Plus, the air fryer gives them a perfectly crispy crust without the need for any oil.

    They make a great mini size dessert that you can pop in your mouth for when you get the craving for an apple pie without all the fuss of making a whole pie. They are also a healthier alternative to traditional apple pie, making them a guilt-free treat. Give them a try and see for yourself how delicious and addictive they are!

    Ingredients and Substitutions

    • Biscuits: I used Pillsbury Grand Biscuits, but any brand of refrigerated biscuit dough will work.
    • Apple pie filling: I used canned apple pie filling for convenience, but you can also make your own from scratch.
    • Spices: Cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg, all spice, nutmeg, ground cloves and ginger. Can also use 1 tablespoon of apple pie spice instead. Will need additional cinnamon for the filling.
    • Butter: I used melted butter to brush on top of the bites before rolling in sugar and spices to stick.

    How to Make Apple Pie Bites

    Step 1: In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ground cloves, and ginger. Set aside.

    Step 2: Open the can of biscuits and remove all 8 biscuits. Place them on a parchment-lined cutting board and split each biscuit in half, yielding 16 pieces.

    Step 3: Take one biscuit at a time and either roll it out with a rolling pin or flatten it with your hands.

    Step 4: In a medium-sized bowl, combine chopped apple pie filling with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, stirring well.

    Step 5: Spoon a portion of the apple cinnamon filling into the center of each dough circle, leaving about ¼ inch border around the edges.

    Step 6: Gather the edges and pinch them together to form small round balls.

    Step 7: Arrange half of the apple bites seam side up in the prepared air fryer, ensuring they are not touching.

    Step 8: Air fry at 350 degrees for approximately 5 minutes, then carefully flip them over and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Repeat until all apple bites are golden brown.

    Step 9: Once cooked, dip each apple bite in melted butter, then coat them in the combined sugar and spice mixture.

    Helpful Tips and Variations

    • Chop apple pie filling into small pieces to ensure they cook evenly in the air fryer.
    • Preheat your air fryer beforehand for best results.
    • Sprinkle some chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts inside with the filling before air frying for some crunch.
    • Try different pie fillings such as cherry, blueberry, etc.
    • Add a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on top.
    • Dip in caramel sauce for a caramel apple flavor.

    Ingredients
      

    Apple Pie Spices for Coating – can substitute spices for 1 TBSP of Apple Pie Spice

    • ¾ C sugar
    • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
    • ¾ teaspoon nutmeg
    • ¼ teaspoon allspice
    • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
    • ¼ teaspoon ginger
    • ½ cup unsalted butter- melted

    • Repeat until all apple bites are golden brown.

    Notes

    Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Can reheat in microwave to desired temperature.
