Swiss Chicken Bake Ingredients & Substitutions
- Chicken: Boneless, skinless chicken breasts are what I used in this recipe. You could also use chicken thighs or tenders but cooking times may vary.
- Cheese: Swiss cheese is what I used hence the name Swiss chicken. You can change it up with other kinds of cheeses if you’d like or add a combination.
- Cream of Chicken Soup: This will give it the creamy flavor. You can also substitute for cream of mushroom soup.
- Stuffing: This adds the crunchy topping and any flavor will work. You can also substitute for croutons or breadcrumbs.
- Butter: Used to pour on top of stuffing to prevent from burning.
- Milk: Used to mix in with condensed soup. Can substitute for chicken broth.
- Wine: I used a white cooking wine to add a little bit of flavor.
How to Make Swiss Chicken Casserole
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray the bottom of a 9×13 pan with non-stick spray.

In a separate bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, splash of white wine and milk together. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
Sprinkle the chicken stuffing on top. Slowly drizzle melted butter all over the stuffing until coated.
