Keto Pepperoni Pizza Sticks

Updated July 8, 2020

These keto pepperoni pizza sticks are a game changer! Pizza is one of my favorite foods to eat but that can be too many carbs when following the ketogenic diet. That is why I had to find another alternative.

I’ve tried many ways of making a pizza more keto friendly so I can enjoy pizza nights and it hit me when I saw someone make a taco shell out of cheese. A light bulb went off in my head and I was thinking I could make the crust out cheese. After playing around with how to make it, I think I finally perfected it with the recipe below. I even got my family to like it and they now request it more often than regular pizza. Enjoy the recipe!

Keto Pepperoni Pizza Sticks

Makes 2-3 servings

Ingredients

2 cups mozzarella shredded cheese
1 egg
Italian seasoning
Pepperoni
Low carb marinara sauce

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl combine mozzarella shredded cheese and egg.

Sprinkle in Italian seasoning. (amount will depend on how much you want)

Lay a piece of parchment paper down on top of a cookie sheet.

Scoop the mixed ingredients from the bowl on to the piece of parchment paper and form into shape. (you can may it round, square or any shape you want.)

Add pepperoni to the top of the pizza.

Once you made the pizza shape and added the pepperoni, sprinkle a little bit more of Italian seasoning on top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Switch oven to broil for 2-4 minutes on high but watch carefully as it can burn quickly.

Cut the the pizza into sticks and serve with low carb marinara sauce.

If you’re not a fan of this much cheese you can always try put the ingredients on a cauliflower crust or even a low carb flatbread or pita bread. My husband tried it on a Joseph’s low carb wrap and it was delicious.

Which marinara sauces are low carb and keto friendly?

My favorite low carb marinara sauce is Rao’s homemade all natural marinara sauce but some others ones that are keto friendly are Ragu Simply, Victoria marinara sauce and Newman’s Own. If you don’t like any of these you can always make your own marinara sauce.

Tip: if you are buying pre shredded cheese, you are adding carbs.
they use a potato starch product to treat the cheese when shredded & packaged, which does add carbs 🙁

ALWAYS buy blocks of cheese and grate your own on Keto.

How do you keep the cheese from sticking to the paper?
