This massive over-the-top Grinder Salad Sandwich is worth all the hype! A combination of flavors from a creamy tangy salad, to your favorite meats and cheeses served on a hoagie bun.

    Grinder Salad Sandwich

The grinder salad sandwich is a popular TikTok recipe that has taken the internet by storm. This easy-to-make sandwich is perfect for any meal and can be customized to your liking.

All you need is a few simple ingredients and a few minutes to put it all together. Here is my version of the Grinder Salad. Enjoy!

    What is a Grinder Salad?

A popular sub sandwich in New England consisting of a creamy based salad topped with your favorite meats, cheeses and veggies on a toasted hoagie bun. It’s pretty much like an Italian sub but with grinder salad.

how to make a grinder salad sandwich

    Recipe Variations

    • Can you romaine lettuce in place of iceberg lettuce.
    • Don’t have red wine vinegar? Use balsamic vinegar instead.
    • If you don’t like mayo, you can swap it out for miracle whip.
    • Can use other kinds of sub buns.
    • Can omit red pepper flakes for less spicy.
    • Feel free to customize your sandwich with your favorite meats, cheeses and vegetables.

    Recipe Tips

    • Make sure to cut the lettuce finely and slice the onion and tomatoes thin for best results.
    • Toast the bread and melt the cheese before building the sandwich.
    • Serve the sandwich fresh. The grinder salad tends to make the bread soggy over time so it’s best to serve it right when you make it.
    • This recipe is enough to make 4 Italian grinders sandwiches. If you are serving more, double or triple this recipe.
