Christmas Tree Brownie Ingredients
- Brownie mix: You can use store-bought brownie mix or make your own from scratch if you prefer.
- Eggs: Depending on the size of your brownie mix package, you’ll typically need 2 to 3 eggs.
- Vegetable oil: This is used to moisten the brownie mix and give it a rich texture.
- Water: A small amount of water is usually necessary to combine with the other ingredients and create a smooth batter.
- Green icing: You can use store-bought green icing or make your own using powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract and green food coloring.
- Sprinkles: Stars and holiday colored dots is what we used but you can use whatever sprinkles you’d like.
Recipe Variations
- Add some mix-ins such as chocolate chips, nuts, etc. in the brownie batter.
- Add a tree trunk by inserting a pretzel or a mini candy can stick in the bottom of the tree.
- Can use homemade icing or homemade brownies if you’d like.
How to Make Christmas Tree Brownies
Grease and line 9X13 baking dish with parchment paper hanging off the sides for easy removal after baking.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine brownie mix + ingredients on the box.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly using a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven per temperature and time it calls for on the box or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting them into triangle shapes to resemble Christmas trees.
How to Cut Christmas Tree Brownies
Cutting Christmas tree shapes out of brownies is easy!
To begin, make sure your brownies are completely cooled. This will make them easier to handle and cut. Gently remove the brownie slab from the baking dish and place it on a cutting board.
Starting at one end of the rectangle, use your knife to cut diagonally to make triangles. Repeat this process until all triangles have been cut.
Using green decorating frosting pipe lines back-and-forth on each triangle. I used a #21 star decorating tip.
Top off your festive treat with colorful sprinkles and a star sprinkle.
