When you want something to warm you up and soothe your throat this garlic chicken soup is the recipe to make. It’s is so easy to make as you just throw everything in the pot and let the slow cooker do the rest. You an even make a big batch ahead of time and freeze the leftovers to eat later.

Yes, you can freeze garlic chicken soup. To do so let the soup cool and store in an air tight container or containers if you want to portion it out for several meals. Put in freezer for up to 3 months. When ready to eat, thaw out soup and reheat until warm.
Is it safe to freeze soup in plastic containers?
Not all plastic containers are safe to store food in. Make sure they are BPA Free and do not contain polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, or polystyrene. These chemicals can cause damage when heated up and can contaminate your food.

1 lb chicken breasts (frozen or fresh)
4 tbsp butter
8 oz cream cheese, cubed
30 oz chicken broth
½ cup heavy whipping cream
1 tsp dried parsley
¼ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp dried basil
½ tsp dried oregano
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
How to Make Slow Cooker Garlic Chicken Soup
Add all ingredients to crock pot. Cover and cook on high for 4-6 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
Shred chicken with 2 forks until finely shredded.
Serve immediately.
Note: If you want to save time you could cook chicken in an instant pot, shred and then add everything in a sauce pan to heat up. Or you can also use already cooked rotisserie chicken from the store.
