How to Make 5 Layer Taco Dip
Full steps on how to make this 5 layer taco dip are in the printable recipe card below. This is a quick walk through.
Step One: Start by mixing your cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, and taco seasoning together. Once it is mixed and not clumpy, spread in a shallow glass pan.
Step Two: Next you will begin layers. Start with lettuce, then tomatoes, cheese, and lastly olives.
Storing Taco Dip
Any leftover dip needs to be stored in the fridge in an airtight container. This taco dip will store for 2-3 days. I find that the lettuce and tomatoes will be the first thing to go bad on this, as it wilts.
You can make a double batch for serving more people, or cut down the size by half if you don’t want to make as much dip.
Tips For Success
- Using a hand mixer will help to ensure the cream cheese becomes ultra creamy. Otherwise it can leave clumps.
- Use any flavor of salsa you like, as it is going to give quite a bit of flavor to the dip. If your dip is pretty liquidy you can drain off some of the liquid so it doesn’t become too watered down.
- If you want to make a day ahead, I suggest waiting to add the lettuce, tomatoes and olives until right before serving. That way they have the crisp texture.
What to Serve With Taco Dip
No matter how you serve this dip, it is gonna tickle everyone’s taste buds.
- Tortilla chips
- Corn Chips
- Crisp Veggies – Celery sticks, bell peppers, etc.
- Pork Rinds
- Pita Chips
- Use dip as a topper for burritos, tacos, etc.
- Etc.
