Vanilla Fudge Ingredients & Substitutions
- Chocolate chips: For this recipe use white chocolate chips found in the baking aisle.
- Sweetened condensed milk: This helps give the fudge a sweet taste flavor with soft and creamy texture.
- Vanilla: You can use either vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste. Use clear vanilla extract to keep it a white fudge.
How to Make Vanilla Fudge
Line a standard loaf pan with foil or parchment paper, then lightly coat it with non-stick spray.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the white chocolate chips with sweetened condensed milk.
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until it’s melted and smooth.
Stir in the vanilla until fully incorporated.
Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Let it set at room temperature for 2-4 hours, or until firm.
Cut into pieces and serve.
Helpful Tips and Variations
- Be sure to line the pan because it will stick to the pan.
- You can use a pastry brush to wipe down the sides of the pan to keep sugar crystals from forming.
- Be sure to allow the fudge to cool completely for the 2-4 hours for it to properly set.
- Add nuts to the fudge mixture such as pecans, walnuts, etc.
- Change the color with food coloring for holidays and special occasions.
- Add bits of Oreos for cookies and cream fudge.
- Change up the flavor with different flavor extracts.
Storing Leftovers
Vanilla fudge can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week or frozen for 3 months.
