Need to make a quick and easy fudge? I’ve got the best fudge recipes using condensed milk that are perfect for any occasion!

easy fudge recipes with condensed milk

Fudge has long been a favorite treat during the holiday season. Whether you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth or searching for the perfect homemade gift, fudge is always a crowd-pleaser. And when it comes to making fudge that is creamy and luscious, one ingredient that is common is condensed milk.

Is there a difference between condensed milk and evaporated milk?

The answer is yes! While both have a longer shelf life than regular fresh milk, evaporated milk does not contain added sugar like condensed milk does.

In fudge recipes, condensed milk serves multiple purposes. It adds sweetness to counterbalance the bitterness of chocolate or other ingredients. Its high sugar content helps create that smooth and creamy texture we all love in fudge. Without condensed milk, fudge can be grainy and dry.

If you’re using evaporated milk to make fudge it will be a thinner consistency, less creamy and more grainy.

Does fudge need to be refrigerated?

Fudge typically does not need to be refrigerated if consumed within a short period of time, however, some recipes may require refrigeration so be sure to check specific recipe instructions.

Can sweetened condensed milk be substituted?

There are no direct substitutes for condensed milk but you can make your own by using this homemade condensed milk recipe.

Add 2 cups full fat milk and ⅔ cups white sugar to a saucepan and bring to a boil stirring continuously until sugar is dissolved. Then, reduce heat and simmer for about 35 minutes or until thickened. Let cool and transfer to an airtight container.

These easy fudge recipes are all made with condensed milk. Some include 5 minute fudge, traditional fudge recipes and so much more. There is plenty to make for your holiday parties or gift giving.

The hard part is choosing which one you want to make since they are all good. One way to solve that is make a variety of fudge to choose from. Enjoy!
