Dried oranges will last for 2 years max as long as you dehydrate them correctly and make sure to store them properly in an airtight container.
Tips on Making Dehydrated Orange Slices
- Follow the directions to a T and don’t rush the process. You could potentially ruin the orange slices if you do so by burning them or not fully dehydrating them.
- Make sure to use ripe oranges to get the best results. Plus, using ripe oranges will make the dry oranges last long after dehydrated.

Navel oranges – (enough for your project or craft)
Turbinado sugar (raw) – (enough to cover oranges when sliced)
How to Make Dried Orange Slices
Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
Slice navel oranges into approximately ¼ inch slices.
Toss orange slices in turbinado sugar making sure that both sides are coated.
Place in a single layer on parchment paper covered baking sheet. Place in oven and bake for one hour.
After cooking one hour, turn slices over and cook for another hour. Turn slices again and continue cooking in 25-30 minute intervals until oranges are dry and no longer holding any juice.
Remove from oven and cool completely. Store in airtight container until ready to use.
