    FAQs

Can I use whipping cream instead of cool whip?

Yes, you can using whipping cream instead of cool whip for this recipe. A cool whip container is about 3 cups so use 1½ cups of heavy whipping cream to start out with. Should double in size. If you need more you can add a little more.

Is cool whip the same as heavy whipping cream?

Cool Whip and heavy whipping cream are not the same. Cool Whip offers convenience and a stable texture, while heavy whipping cream can be whipped into homemade whipped cream. Both have different tastes and textures.

Is there a way to thaw cool whip faster?

The safest way is to thaw out in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight but if you are short on time you can place it in a cold water bath for 30-40 minutes.
