Pear and Pomegranate collide in this refreshing spritzer. Pear & Pomegranate Spritzer is made with pomegranate juice, spiced apple cider, rum, sliced pears, and more. A delicious and party approved cocktail.

This fall inspired cocktail is one that you can whip up for an evening at home, or serve up at your next dinner party or holiday part. Sip and savor all the flavors.
Pomegranates have a bright red color and the inner flesh is full of edible seeds. Arils are what the seeds are called and loaded with antioxidants, fiber and other nutrients. This is going to really decorate your spritzer, and add flavor.
What is a Spritzer?
A spritzer is a refreshing and easy-to-make drink that can be enjoyed all year round. A spritzer is typically made with wine or sparkling water, and fruit juice or soda.
Ingredients You Will Need
Pear Juice – You can buy pear juice and this is a sweet and refreshing juice. The perfect way to get a nice rich pear flavor to the spritzer.
Spiced Apple Cider – You can find this in the refrigerated area in the produce section of store. Or some have apple cider in a few other areas at the store. If you can’t find spiced you can use plain apple cider.
Rum – I like to use a clear rum for this recipe but a spiced rum can work also since the apple cider is spiced and the flavors do mix well.
Ginger Ale – The ginger ale offers a nice ginger flavor that balances out the rum, and sweetness from pear.
Rosemary – Used for garnish to make it look really stunning.
Pear – Thinly slice your pear and use as a garnish.
Pomegranate – The perfect deep red look to the spritzer. Plus, you can eat the arils once you drink all your spritzer.
How to Make Pear Pomegranate Spritzer
Step One: Start by grabbing a shaker and add in the pear juice, rum, ice, and cider.
Step Two: Shake well to incorporate all the ingredients.
Step Three: Pour the juice mixture into the glass and fill the rest with ginger ale.
Step Four: Garnish with pear slices, rosemary, and some pomegranate.
Variations to Spritzer
- Swap the ginger ale out with a lemon lime soda.
- Use a sparkling water instead of ginger ale.
- Instead of pomegranate you can use cranberries.
- Swap rum with vodka.
- Leave out the alcohol if you want to make it kid-friendly. Just replace with ginger ale.
Can this drink be made in advance?
You will find that the drink can’t be made in advance as the ginger ale will go flat. I recommend making this spritzer right before you are ready to serve.
You can prep the pomegranate and slice the pears and then store both in the fridge until you are ready to make your drinks.
Can I substitute apple for pear?
If you are wanting to swap out the pear, apple is a great replacement. You will find that both of these fruits are very similar in texture and both offer a similar flavor. Reach for a sweet variety of apple.
Should you chew pomegranate seeds?
Yes, you can eat the whole pomegranate seed. It is a bit of a hard and chewy texture that you will find releases juice a bit when you bite into it.
