Kids and adults love these Lego Man Hot Chocolate Bombs! Pour hot milk over top and watch them burst for a fun surprise of hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, Legos and sprinkles!

    Lego Man Hot Chocolate Bombs

Hot cocoa bombs are THE BOMB!

You’ve probably seen my obsession of making them such as Grinch Hot Chocolate Bombs, Disney Frozen Hot Chocolate Bombs and Keto Hot Chocolate Bombs. And it doesn’t stop there cause now I have these Lego Man Hot Chocolate Bombs and more coming.

How to make Lego Man Hot Chocolate Bombs

I have not seen these hot chocolate bombs at Costco or near me so I thought I would try to make them using this medium size Lego Hot Chocolate Bombs Mold. They turned out great and the kids love them too.

    What are Hot Chocolate Bombs?

Hot cocoa bombs are hollow chocolate filled with hot chocolate mix, marshmallows and sometimes sprinkles. Cocoa bombs are usually round, but these have a unique shape of a Lego Minifigures.

    Hot Chocolate Bomb Tips

    • Don’t overcook the chocolate.
    • Use a hot plate to seal the two chocolate molds together to make a hot chocolate bomb. Reheat if necessary.
    • Smooth out any air bubbles in chocolate after placing it in silicone mold using the back of a spoon.
    • Make sure the chocolate is firm before building.
    • If you don’t want any fingerprints on the chocolate bombs you can wear food safe gloves.
    • To store, keep them in an airtight container in fridge to avoid melting.
    • To give as a gift, just wrapped in cellophane, tie with a bow or ribbon and add a gift tag.

What you Need to Make Lego Hot Cocoa Bombs

    2 cups Chocolate Candy Melts
    2 cups Hot Chocolate Mix
    2 cups Mini Marshmallows
    ½ cup Lego Sprinkles
Lego man mold – I used this medium sized lego man from this set.

How to Make Lego Man Hot Chocolate Bombs

Add chocolate to bowl and melt in microwave in 30 second increments stirring in between until creamy and smooth.

Spoon about 1-2 tbsp of the melted candy melts into the mold making sure to only fill the sides of the mold all the way to the top and keeping the inside hollow. Use the back of a spoon to guide the chocolate throughout the mold.

While the chocolate is still wet, carefully place 6-8 mini marshmallows in one mold on top of the chocolate avoiding pressing down. This will make it easier to put together and avoiding spilling the contents inside.

Place molds in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes or until they are easy to pop out. Very carefully remove the chocolate from the mold. If they don’t pop out easily, place back in freezer for a few more minutes.

    Build the Cocoa Bombs

Fill the other mold with 1 tbsp hot chocolate mix, 1 tbsp sprinkles.

Heat a plate in the microwave for about 45 seconds or until hot. Press the empty chocolate Lego man half open-side-down onto the flat portion of the warm plate for a few seconds to gently melt the rim of the chocolate.

Immediately press this warmed edge chocolate cup to the top of the filled cup. This will join the two halves of the hot cocoa bomb.

Add some melted chocolate to a piping bag or ziploc bag with the bottom corner snipped off and add chocolate all around the edges. Roll the wet edges of the Lego man sides and top in a bowlful of sprinkles.

Place the hot cocoa bombs into the freezer for 5 minutes to harden, then remove and store in an airtight container until you’re ready to use.

How to Use a Hot Cocoa Bomb

To use a hot cocoa bomb, carefully place in the bottom of a cup. Heat milk separately in microwave or on stovetop. Pour piping hot milk in cup over top of hot cocoa bomb and watch it open up. Stir and enjoy!
