- 2 cups Chocolate Candy Melts
- 2 cups Hot Chocolate Mix
- 2 cups Mini Marshmallows
- ½ cup Lego Sprinkles
- Lego man mold - I used this medium sized lego man from this set.
How to Make Lego Man Hot Chocolate Bombs
Add chocolate to bowl and melt in microwave in 30 second increments stirring in between until creamy and smooth.
Spoon about 1-2 tbsp of the melted candy melts into the mold making sure to only fill the sides of the mold all the way to the top and keeping the inside hollow. Use the back of a spoon to guide the chocolate throughout the mold.
Place molds in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes or until they are easy to pop out. Very carefully remove the chocolate from the mold. If they don’t pop out easily, place back in freezer for a few more minutes.
Build the Cocoa Bombs
Fill 1 of the molds with 1 tbsp hot chocolate mix, 1 tbsp sprinkles, and the other mold with 6-8 mini marshmallows.
Heat a plate in the microwave for about 45 seconds or until hot. Press the empty chocolate Lego man half open-side-down onto the flat portion of the warm plate for a few seconds to gently melt the rim of the chocolate.
Immediately press this warmed edge chocolate cup to the top of the filled cup. This will join the two halves of the hot cocoa bomb. If you are having trouble getting the two halves to join, you can add a little more chocolate.
Roll the wet edges of the Lego man sides and top in a bowlful of sprinkles.
Place the hot cocoa bombs into the freezer for 5 minutes to harden, then remove and store in an airtight container until you’re ready to use.
How to Use a Hot Cocoa Bomb
- Don’t overcook the chocolate.
- Use a hot plate to seal the two chocolate molds together to make a hot chocolate bomb. Reheat if necessary.
- Smooth out any air bubbles in chocolate after placing it in silicone mold using the back of a spoon.
- Make sure the chocolate is firm before building.
- If you don’t want any fingerprints on the chocolate bombs you can wear latex gloves.
- To store, keep them in an airtight container in fridge to avoid melting.
- To give as a gift, just wrapped in cellophane, tie with a bow or ribbon and add a gift tag.
