When the weather is nice, you can usually find me outside grilling something. Skewers are a great to make when you want to use up fruits, vegetables and meats. You can pretty much throw anything together on a stick and grill it making a delicious easy dinner. Well not really but kind of!
Variations of Skewers
There are lots of variations of skewers you can make. First you want to start by choosing the meat or fish such as chicken, steak or shrimp as the main ingredient. Then, you want to choose what you want to go in between the meat or fish on the skewer. Some other ideas would be pineapple, bacon, lemon, lime, mushrooms and more. And the final step before grilling is choosing a marinade or seasoning for the skewers.

The possibilities are endless on what you can serve with beef skewers and will depend on what everyone likes. Some of the best side dishes that pair nicely with kabobs are corn on the cob, salad, rice, noodles or potato salad.

Grilled Teriyaki Steak Kabobs Ingredients
Makes 4 Kabobs
For the Marinade:
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1 clove garlic, pressed
½ tsp ground ginger
½ cup white wine
¼ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp season salt
For the Skewers:
1 ½ pounds top sirloin steak cut into 1 ½ inch cubes
1 medium red onion cut into one inch pieces
1 large green peppers, seeds removed and cut into one inch pieces
1 large yellow pepper, seeds removed and cut into one inch pieces
1 tbsp olive oil
Wooden or metal skewers (If using wooden, soak them in water for an hour before preparing and grilling)
How to Make Grilled Teriyaki Steak Skewers
In a bowl whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ground ginger, white wine, onion powder, season salt and olive oil.
Pour the mixture into a gallon size resealable plastic bag and add the cubed steak. Seal the bag making sure all the air is out and work the marinade into steak. Place the bag in the fridge for 30 minutes – 1 hour. (marinate longer for more flavor)
Preheat an outdoor grill over high heat and lightly oil the grill grates.
Remove the steak from the bag and discard the remaining marinade. Prepare the skewers by threading beef, onions and peppers onto the skewers.
Brush skewers lightly with olive oil and place on grill. Cook for about 10-15 minutes flipping every few minutes until they are cooked to your liking.
