Those biscuits from KFC are so good especially drizzled with some honey. Going to KFC every time we have a craving is not in our budget so through trial and error I learned how to make these Copycat KFC biscuits that tastes just like the real thing.
The best thing about making them at home is that you can have them whenever you want and satisfy the entire family’s craving. My family likes to honey on them the best but you can always put jam, gravy or even just plain butter.
If you want, you can make these ahead of time and freeze them. Just take them out the night before and put in the fridge to thaw out. We like to do this and make biscuits and gravy for breakfast.
Copycat KFC Biscuits
Serves 12
Ingredients
- 4 cups self-rising flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup salted butter
- 1 ⅓ cup buttermilk
Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Mix the dry ingredients and then add in the butter and using a fork, cut the butter in until only small pieces remain.
Mix in the buttermilk until all ingredients are in a ball of dough.
Knead dough 4-5 times on a floured surface and then roll out to ½ an inch thickness.
Cut out biscuits with a 3-inch biscuit cutter or you can use a mason jar lid.
Bake for 12-14 minutes. Brush the top of biscuits with melted butter.
What supplies do you need to make Copycat Kentucky Fried Chicken Biscuits?
There are not many supplies you need to make these copycat KFC biscuits. When I make them I use a rolling pin, biscuit cutter, measuring cups, and mixing bowls. Feel free to use whatever supplies you want as some like to use different types of mixing bowls and even a pastry cutter.
