Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Kid Friendly – kids love these popsicles as well as adults (me included).
- Make Ahead Treat – these are great to make ahead and store in the freezer for when you want a cool treat.
- Easy to Make – 4 ingredients is all you need to make this dessert and takes no time at all to prep.
Tips & Variations
- Can use fresh or frozen bananas. If using fresh make sure they are ripe.
- Make it dairy free by swapping out milk for almond or coconut milk.
- Can use graham crackers in place of vanilla wafers.
- If you want less banana flavor, use vanilla instant pudding mix instead of banana cream.
- Serve over ice to prevent melting.
- Store remaining leftovers in the freezer either kept in mold or put in baggies.
What You’ll Need
- Milk – whole milk will make it more creamy however 2% will also work.
- Banana cream pudding – instant pudding mix or homemade.
- Vanilla wafers – any brand will work; Nilla or store brand.
- Banana – fresh is best but can also use frozen.
For this recipe you will also need a popsicle mold. This silicone popsicle mold is my favorite as it’s easy to get them out but any popsicle mold will work also.
How to Make Banana Pudding Popsicles
- Add 3 cups milk and banana cream pudding mix into a large bowl. Whisk together for about 2 minutes. Set aside to allow to thicken.
- Place vanilla wafers into a ziplock bag. Get air out of bag, seal and crush wafers using a mallet or rolling pin.
- Slice banana into thin slices. Evenly place slices of banana into each mold. Fill the remainder of the mold with banana pudding mixture. Shake the mold to loosen any bubbles.
- Insert popsicle sticks and add vanilla wafer crumbs at the bottom of each mold. Gently press them down into the pudding so they stay when frozen.
- Freeze until solid for about 6-8 hours. Serve cold!
