This Easter Bunny Cake is an adorable dessert that’s perfect for after Easter dinner. It’s simple to make with cake mix, frosting and candy decorations.

Easter traditions are different for every family but usually include a big Easter dinner such as ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, deviled eggs, and dinner rolls followed by a sweet dessert to finish the meal. At our house, we usually have strawberry pretzel dessert, cheesecake or banana pudding.
This year I thought I would change things up with an Easter Bunny cake because it would be fun to make, a hit with the kids, and something a little different. It turned out so cute and easy to make thanks to a simple hack that creates the perfect bunny shape - no cake decorating skills required.

Oh and I didn’t make it from scratch but that can be our little secret. Preparing Easter dinner already takes enough time, and sometimes there just isn’t much extra time left for baking from scratch.
It tastes just as delicious using boxed cake mix and pairs nicely with my some of my other Easter desserts like Easter dirt pudding or Easter chocolate blossom cookies.

Step 2: Cut one cake into three pieces to form the bunny’s tow ears and bow tie.

Step 3: Arrange the bunny shape on a serving platter by placing one whole round cake in the center for the head. Position the two ear pieces above the head and the bow piece below it.

Helpful Tips
- Let the cakes cool completely before decorating so the frosting doesn’t melt.
- A serrated knife works best for cutting and shaping.
- If you want an extra fluffy bunny look, sprinkle shredded coconut on the frosting.
- Place the cake on the serving platter you plan to serve it on before decorating so you don’t have to move it later.

Store leftover cake in an airtight container or cover with plastic in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
