Items to Include in the Gift Basket
You can choose whatever you’d like to add in the gift basket. Here is what I put in mine for inspiration.
- Toolbox: I picked up a small toolbox from the Dollar Tree but you can use any kind of toolbox and size.
- Tools: Include a variety of tools that your dad might need for his DIY projects. This can include screwdrivers, pliers, a hammer, measuring tape, and more.
- Candy: Every toolbox needs a little bit of fuel, so don’t forget to add your dad’s favorite candy or snacks.
- Other Goodies: You can also include other practical items like gloves, a flashlight, multi-purpose tool, duct tape or his other favorite kinds of snacks.
- Paper Filler: To add some color and hold all the items in place, use some shredded paper filler.
- Hot Glue: If necessary, use hot glue to secure items in place and prevent them from shifting during transportation.
- Bow or Ribbon: This is option but can finish off the gift basket with a bow or ribbon.
How to Make a Toolbox Gift Basket
This is optional but you can add some brown paper to fill the bottom of the toolbox. Then, add the colored paper filler on top.
Arrange the snacks, candy and tools on top of the paper filler.
Use the hot glue to secure items in place. I placed a small drop of hot glue on each side of the lid and attached it to the snacks to hold it up.
Add a bow or ribbon if you’d like. You can also cover it in cello wrap or shrink wrap it.
