Slow Cooker Mississippi Pot Roast

Updated February 16, 2021

This Slow Cooker Mississippi Pot Roast is the best recipe ever that is so simple to make, tender and full of flavor the whole family will love!

When you need an easy dump and go recipe this is the one to choose. The crock pot does all the cooking for you while you work, run errands, clean house, etc. and will be ready by the time dinner comes around. My kids loved this Mississippi Pot Roast recipe so much that they asked for me to make it again the next night.

My Mississippi Pot Roast is not the traditional recipe. I like to add a bit more seasoning and juices for more flavor and tenderness to the pot roast that I think you will enjoy. One that is my favorite to use in the recipe is Kettle & Fire Beef Bone Broth. It is made in the USA with grass-fed cow bones, apple cider vinegar, and only organic ingredients giving you a natural source of collagen, glycine, and other beneficial nutrients. If you would like to Kettle & Fire Beef Bone Broth or any of their products visit them here and enter code everydayshortcuts at check out for a 15% discount.

Can I cook a pot roast in an Instant Pot?

Yes, you can cook a pot roast in an Instant Pot. If you don’t want to use the crock pot and want dinner on the table faster, Instant Pot is the way to cook it. To do so you sear it first on both sides in the Instant Pot using the saute button. Then, turn off saute function and add all ingredients to Instant Pot and cook according to directions from Instant Pot.
