These Crab Cookies are almost too cute to eat! Made with cookies, frosting, chocolate chips and licorice for a delicious and fun to decorate summer treat.

I can’t get over how adorable these crabs on the beach cookies are.
I think they would make a great dessert to take to a seafood boil, beach themed party or crab feast.
It’s a simple recipe that doesn’t require any baking which is perfect during the hot summer months when you don’t want to turn on the oven.

We used chocolate chip cookies from the grocery store bakery for the base, but homemade sugar or chocolate chip cookies would work just as well.
You can even skip the cookie base altogether and make the Oreo crabs on their own. They’re just as fun and look great on the dessert table!

How to Make Beach Crab Cookies

Divide the frosting into 2 bowls. Add blue food coloring to one bowl and red food coloring to other bowl of frosting. Mix until combined.

Frost each chocolate chip cookie with blue frosting.
Crush animal crackers into small crumbs and sprinkle on half of each frosted cookie to resemble sand.
Separate the Oreos and spread red frosting over on the top halves only.

Pull apart the Twizzlers and cut into 4 inch pieces. Lay 3 pieces across the Oreo filling and place the red frosted half on top. Repeat with the remaining Oreos.
Add 2 white chocolate chips for the eyes and place on top of the blue frosted cookie.
Optional: Add a paper umbrella to each cookie but make sure guests remove before consuming.

Helpful Tips and Variations
- Can swap frosting for red and blue candy melts.
- Can use crushed Golden Oreos for sand in place of animal crackers.
- The frosting won’t set so these can get messy. If you want to avoid the mess, use cookie icing instead.
