These Ocean Gelatin Cups are a fun summer treat made with just a few simple ingredients and topped with a paper beach umbrella!

Food is always more fun when it looks like art and these gelatin ocean cups are as cute as they are delicious.
These dessert cups are made to look like mini aquariums. I used Nerds candy as gravel, bright blue gelatin for the ocean water and gummy sea creatures like sharks, fish and octopus to complete them.

There are so many different occasions you can make with these gelatin cups such as if you’re homeschooling with an ocean-themed week, celebrating Shark week or throwing a summer birthday party.
They are always a hit with kids and adults!
If your kids enjoyed these, they’ll also love my Fish Bowl Drink or Shark Bite Cupcakes. Both are fun, creative and perfect for themed celebrations.

Ingredients
- Gelatin: I used Sonic Ocean Water gelatin but any brand of blue gelatin or blue Jello will work.
- Nerds candy: This is for the gravel rocks but you can also use crushed graham crackers for sand.
- Gummy candy: Any ocean fish will work such as sharks, octopus or fish.
- Paper umbrellas: These are optional but a fun additional for decoration.
- Mini cups: I used these short small clear cups or you can use these taller ones.
How to Make Aquarium Gelatin Cups

Prepare the blue gelatin per package directions. Let chill in refrigerator for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until firm.

Lay out your clear cups. Add a layer of Nerds candy to the bottom.

Add a few scoops of chilled blue gelatin on top of Nerds.

Top with gummy sea creatures and a paper umbrella. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Helpful Tips & Variations
- These are best assembled just before serving. The gelatin can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge but the candies and gummies will lose texture if they sit too long.
- You can also pour cooled liquid gelatin over top the Nerds and gummies, then chill until set. (Note: the Nerds may bleed color.)
- Use any of your favorite sea creature gummies; turtles, starfish, sea horse, etc.
- If serving a larger crowd use the 6 oz. box of gelatin.

Storing Leftovers
- Assembled cups don’t store well, so it’s best to enjoy them fresh.
- If you have leftover gelatin, keep it covered in the fridge and consume within a few days.
- Store extra candy in resealable bags or original packaging.
