These air fryer buffalo chicken bites are a delicious and healthier take on the classic appetizer. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce for a tasty game day snack or party appetizer.

air fryer buffalo chicken bites with ranch dressing

If you love spicy foods, you’ll love these buffalo chicken bites cooked in the air fryer. They are packed with flavor with the amount of heat. Plus, they are so easy to make as the air fryer cooks the chicken to perfection, leaving it juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside without the added oil and grease.

But if you don’t like that much heat you can always adjust the amount of hot sauce you use or try a different sauce such as parmesan garlic or honey BBQ.

buffalo chicken chunks and ranch dressing

The perfect addition to buffalo chicken chunks is your favorite dipping sauce. Ranch dressing is a classic pairing, but you can also use blue cheese dressing or even a creamy avocado dip.

These chicken bites with no breading are also great on top of salads or in a wrap for a quick and easy lunch option.

    Buffalo Chicken Bite Ingredients

    • Chicken: Boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into 1 inch pieces.
    • Hot sauce and butter: This is where the buffalo flavor comes in! Choose your favorite brand or make your own homemade version mixed in with melted butter.
    • Seasonings: You’ll need garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, salt and black pepper.
    • Dipping sauces: While not technically an ingredient for the chicken bites themselves, having some blue cheese dressing or ranch on hand makes these bites even more irresistible!
    • Optional extras: If you want to take your bites up a notch, add cayenne pepper for extra heat.

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Bites in the Air Fryer

Start by cutting up skinless, boneless chicken into bite-sized pieces. Remove any excess fat or gristle from the chicken to ensure that it cooks evenly. Add the chicken chunks to a bowl.

In a separate bowl, add butter and melt in microwave. Add in the hot sauce and place chicken chunks in the buffalo sauce mixture and mix until fully coated.

chicken chunks in a single layer in the air fryer

Place chicken bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to cook at around 400°F for about 8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Remove the buffalo chicken bites from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!

Tips for Perfectly Crispy Chicken Bites

    • Preheat the oven before cooking.
    • Place chicken in a single layer to ensure it cooks evenly. Cook in batches if needed.
    • Lightly coat chicken with cooking spray for more crisp.
    • Flip chicken bites halfway through cooking.
