7 Insanely Easy Ways To Keep Your Kitchen Clean

These insanely easy ways to keep your kitchen clean are all about thinking as you go. There is no magic eraser that will float in while you sleep and leave things sparkling. There are however a few things you can do that will minimize your time cleaning each day.

7 Insanely Easy Ways To Keep Your Kitchen Clean

Use proper storage so counters are clutter free. One of the biggest things that makes a kitchen look dirty is the clutter on your counters. Even if you have a super small kitchen, you can easily keep your kitchen clean by using proper storage. Invest in hooks for under the counter, special shelving to help make your cabinets more useful for your pantry items and even a lazy susan to make more room in hard to reach corners.

Wipe down counters as you go. One huge way to keep your kitchen clean is to clean as you go. This may seem tough, but I have learned that when your stove top is still warm after cooking, it is much easier to wipe off those spills. If I keep a damp sponge for spills nearby while I am cooking, I end up with a great meal without a ton of mess to clean up afterwards.

Put dishes directly into dishwasher after use. Instead of stacking items in the sink, simply put them right into the dishwasher. Most modern dishwashers have no real need for the pre-rinse that we grew up with. Just remove trash and bits of food then put directly into the dishwasher. Train your family to do this so you aren’t finding tons of dirty dishes stacked up for you to deal with.

Make a one cup per day rule. Do your kids always get a new cup out of the cabinet for every drink they have? Invest in some nice Copco tumblers with lids and straws for everyone in your family. They come in multiple colors, so it is easy to assign a color to each child. Tell your family to rinse their cup out when putting something new in during the day instead of getting a fresh cup. At the end of the day you have only one cup per person to wash instead of 10-15 random cups.

Create a command center for mail, homework, etc. Set up a command center in your home to keep all of your clutter together. Things like mail, notes from teachers, your family calendar and car keys can all go in this one location. Keep it off your kitchen counter to eliminate clutter. When you have a place for everything, you will find things in their place instead of taking up space in your kitchen.

Keep all-purpose spray handy. The easiest way to keep those kitchen counters sparkling is to have a simple all-purpose sanitizing cleaning spray on hand at all times. Keep a spray bottle under your kitchen counter so when you see a spill you can quickly wipe it up without digging around for cleaning agents.

Assign everyone a daily kitchen chore. The number one easy way to keep your kitchen clean is to make it everyone’s responsibility. Don’t let this be a chore only you handle. Assign everyone in the house a daily task that keeps your kitchen sparkling. Things like cleaning out the refrigerator, loading dishes into dishwasher, unloading dishes, wiping down counters, sweeping and mopping can all be assigned so everyone has a task making cleanup take half the time.

These insanely easy ways to keep your kitchen clean are all about planning ahead and working with your family. Get started today making your kitchen a safe and clean haven everyone will love spending time in.
