31 Days to Declutter Your Home & Live Life Simply: Office/Desk
Feel like you have a mountain of papers taking over your desk? That was my situation and getting so bad that I didn’t have space to work. Paperwork can accumulate fast from kids school work, bills, etc. We often get busy and put paperwork in piles throughout the week hoping we get back to them later. Then, when we need a paper we can no longer find it as it has been long gone and buried. I know how it is because I am a victim of doing this myself.
Here is a tip that I am going to do to keep the mountains from appearing on my desk.
Tip: Take 15 – 20 minutes a week to go thru paperwork that has been collected each week.
First I went thru all the paperwork, supplies, etc. in my and out of my desk taking everything off the shelves and desk. I ended up filling about half of a trash can of unwanted paperwork. Then, I put like items in piles to keep things together to make it easier to find. Finally, I took my containers/organizers and arranged them on my shelving unit and desk.
I used See Jane desk organizers to keep my paperwork and office supplies organized. If you have never used See Jane products, they are sturdy, affordable, and come in fun colors to go with any decor.
Using the storage bins I put “like” items in each one. This has really helped me be able to get the item I need much faster rather than digging around for it or not finding it at all.
Will you take on this Challenge?
Stay tuned for Day 4!
