    Vampire Kiss Jello Shot Ingredients

    • Cherry Jello
    • Boiling Water
    • Vodka
    • Black Gel Food Coloring
    • Plastic Condiment Cups

    Recipe Variations

    • Use flavored vodka instead of plain vodka.
    • Swap vodka for Fireball Whiskey, rum or tequila.
    • Swap cherry jello with strawberry jello.
    • Add fun garnishes such as Halloween sprinkles or vampire fangs on top.
    • Experiment with layers by making the bottom layer black and top layer red or create more than 2 layers.

    Prepare Black Jello Layer

    • Bring ½ cup of water to a boil and add the remaining jello powder and stir until dissolved.
    • Pour ½ cup of vodka plus black food coloring and stir well.
    • Top each of the condiment cups off with the black jello layer.
    • Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
    • Once set, serve and enjoy.

    Recipe Tips

Chill vodka before adding to jello mixture to ensure the jello shots will set properly and have a smooth texture.

If you prefer stronger shots, increase the amount of vodka in the recipe but not too much as that can prevent the jello shots from setting.

    How to Store Jello Shots

Place lids on top of each plastic container and store in the fridge for up to one week. DO NOT freeze jello shots as alcohol does not freeze.

    FAQs

How far in advance can I make vampire kiss jello shots?

You can make them a day or two in advance, however, if you are adding garnishes wait until ready to serve to add them.

Can I use different types of alcohol besides vodka?

Of course! Some popular options are whiskey, tequila or rum.

Can I make a non-alcoholic version of these jello shots?

Yes, you can! Just omit the alcohol and use cold water instead.

How long do vampire kiss jello shots need to set before serving?

Because vampire kiss jello shots have layers, they will take longer to set than basic jello shots. Give them about 4-6 hours to set properly in the fridge.
