This Orange Julius Recipe is a copycat of the classic drink you know and love! It’s made with orange juice, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and ice for a refreshing and creamy treat.

Homemade Orange Julius in a glass

Remember those childhood trips to the mall with your mom, where you would eagerly wait in line for that refreshing and creamy Orange Julius? I certainly do!

We would make our way to the food court, passing by various enticing smells from other eateries. But it was always the vibrant orange hue and frothy goodness of an Orange Julius that had me captivated.

That orange smoothie was a treat like no other. It always brought immense joy and satisfaction walking through the mall with an iconic Orange Julius cup in hand.

Those days are now over as you can’t find an Orange Julius location in a mall anymore. It is now a Dairy Queen Orange Julius and only available at very few DQ locations.

The good news is that you don’t have to worry about finding a location as you can enjoy this beloved classic anytime with this homemade Orange Julius recipe that tastes like the real thing!

    What is an Orange Julius?

If you’ve never had the pleasure of enjoying this beverage, let me introduce you to the world of Orange Julius. It’s a creamy concoction that combines the refreshing taste of orange with a hint of vanilla goodness.

So, what exactly makes an Orange Julius so special? Well, it all comes down to the unique blend of ingredients and the method used to create this creamy treat. Unlike your typical smoothie or milkshake, an Orange Julius incorporates orange juice, milk (or cream), sugar, vanilla extract, and ice into a frothy masterpiece.

The result is a drink that perfectly balances tangy citrus flavors with sweet and creamy undertones. It’s no wonder why people used to flock to the malls just for a sip!

    FAQs

Can I use a different fruit instead of oranges for this recipe?

Absolutely! While the classic Orange Julius is made with oranges, you can experiment with other fruits like strawberries, pineapples, or even mangoes to create your own unique flavors.

Can I make this recipe dairy-free?

Yes, you can easily make a dairy-free version of the Orange Julius by substituting regular milk with almond milk, soy milk, or any other non-dairy alternative. You’ll still achieve that creamy texture and delicious taste!

Can I freeze leftover Orange Julius for later?

While it’s best to enjoy an Orange Julius fresh and chilled, you can certainly pour leftovers in popsicle molds and freeze them for later.
