    candy corn jello shots

It’s almost time to get ready for Halloween, which means it’s time for jack-o-lanterns, spooky decorations, and of course – candy!

There are so many different candies out there but one of the most iconic candies during the fall is good old fashioned candy corn.

Candy corn is a divisive Halloween treat. You either love it or hate it! If you’re not a fan of candy corn, don’t worry. These Jello shots don’t taste like candy corn. They’re more for show and have a fruity taste with a burst of vodka. So if you’re looking for a tasty treat this Halloween, give these Jello shots a try.

If you love these Halloween Jello Shots, try my Witches Brew Jello Shots or Scream Jello Shots! Both are fun for parties!

Why You’ll Love These Jello Shots

    • Fun & Festive: With the colors of fall and Halloween these are perfect for parties.
    • Serves a Crowd: This recipe makes about 12 Jello shots. If you need to serve more you can double or triple the recipe.
    • They’re Versatile: Can change up the flavors and make them with or without alcohol.

    Candy Corn Jello Shots Ingredients

    • Unflavored gelatin
    • Water
    • Sweetened condensed milk
    • Vodka
    • Orange Jello
    • Yellow food coloring

    Recipe Substitutions & Additions

    • JELLO: Can substitute plain jello packet for a yellow jello such as lemon flavor or the orange flavor for peach.
    • VODKA: Try to use a good quality vodka. Some of the cheaper brands do not set up properly in jello shots. You can use plain or flavored vodka.
    • TOPPING: Whipped cream with a candy corn on top would be a fun addition to this jello shot. Could also have it set up on the side for those they would like to help themselves to it.

White Layer: Heat 1 cup of water over low heat. Whisk in 2 packets of unflavored gelatin until completely dissolved. Remove from heat. Whisk in sweetened condensed milk and ⅔ cup vodka.

Pour half the mixture into a microwave safe bowl and set aside. The remaining mixture is your white layer. Evenly divide among 12 shots. Put in fridge for about 90 minutes or until set.

Orange Layer: Heat 1 cup of water over low heat. Whisk in 1 packet of unflavored gelatin until completely dissolved. Remove from heat. Whisk in orange gelatin packet till fully combine. Add the remaining ⅓ cup vodka and stir well.

Pour orange jello on top of white layer and place in fridge for about 90 minutes or until set.

Yellow Layer: Heat up the remaining bowl of white gelatin in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until smooth and liquified. Add 2-3 drops of yellow food coloring and mix together.

Add the yellow gelatin on top of the orange layer filling the top of each shot glass. Place in fridge for about 60 minutes or until set. Garnish with whipped topping and candy corn if you like. Enjoy!

    Recipe Tips

    • Be sure to allow enough time for each layer to set up in the fridge to avoid them running together.
    • For easy transport to and from fridge, use a large baking sheet to put jello shot cups on.
    • Use a syringe, turkey baster or measuring cup with sprout for easy pouring.
    • Allow gelatin to fully dissolve to avoid clumps.

What’s the Best Alcohol to Put in Candy Corn Jello Shots?

Vodka would be the best option but you could also use tequila, whiskey or gin if you prefer. I think flavored vodka like whipped cream or vanilla would be delicious in this recipe.

Can I Make These in Advance?

Yes, you can make these jello shots a day or two in advance. Keep chilled in the fridge with lid on.

How Long Do Jello Shots Lasts?

Jello shots last up to 1 week in the fridge. To keep the freshness, place lid on top.
