This American Fruit Flag Platter is the perfect dessert for Labor Day! Sliced strawberries and whipped cream for stripes and blueberries for stars.

When it comes to a patriotic holiday such as Labor Day, Memorial Day or 4th of July, it’s a must to make an American Flag dish. I’ve made several from Flag Taco Dip, Patriotic Italian Pasta Salad to 4th of July Cheesecake.

While this American flag fruit tray is not necessary a recipe, it has some steps to assembling and a great dessert or starter for a party. Plus, it’s festive with red, white and blue colors and is great to whip up quickly.

What You Need to Make a Patriotic Berry Fruit Platter
- Fruit: Fresh strawberries and blueberries.
- Whipped Cream: I used thick whipped cream so it doesn’t go flat fast but you could also use white chocolate covered pretzels or sliced string cheese.
- Tray: I used a red tray with handles so it’s easy to transport but unfortunately it’s no longer available. There are some other options of trays or platters you can also use.

How to Make a Patriotic Flag Fruit Platter
- Wash and dry fruit.
- Remove stems from strawberries and cut in half lengthwise.
- Place blueberries in the upper left hand corner for the stars.
- Add a row of strawberries, alternating leaving a row blank in between.
- Add whipped cream in the blank row for the stripes.
Pro tip: Add the whipped cream right before serving so it stays fluffy.
