    What is a Snackle Box?

A “snackle box” is a fun way to serve a variety of snacks, typically using a divided container (like a tackle box) with each section holding a different item.

Can you bring a snackle box on a plane?

Yes, you can bring a snacklebox on a plane as long as all the snacks are TSA approved and no liquids.

I took one on a trip and filled it with all our favorite snacks, candies, meats, cheeses and crackers. The lady sitting next to me was impressed and said she is taking notes for her next trip as it was such a good idea.

    Snackle Box Ideas

The key is to balance sweet, salty and savory flavors but you can really fill it with whatever you want. Here is a list of what I filled mine with along with other options:

    Proteins

    • Beef jerky bites
    • Summer sausage
    • Hard-boiled eggs, peeled
    • Assortment of cheese cubes
    • Sliced meats (salami, pepperoni or any cured meats)
    • Nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
    • Babybel cheese

    Fruits

    • Seedless grapes
    • Apple slices (with lemon to prevent browning)
    • Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
    • Orange or clementine segments
    • Dried fruit
    • Olives
    • Pickles

    Veggies

    • Baby carrots
    • Cucumber slices
    • Celery sticks
    • Cherry tomatoes
    • Bell pepper strips

    Crunchy Snacks

    • Pretzels
    • Goldfish crackers
    • Assorted crackers
    • Popcorn
    • Apple Straws
    • Mini Doritos
    • Cheez Its

    Sweets

what foods to put in snackle box containers

How to Make a Snackle Box Container

Before you begin, wash container with hot soapy, water and dry. Make sure the container is food safe. If it is not use deli paper as food liners.

Prepare foods such as slicing cheese, washing fruit, cutting veggies, etc.

Place foods into individual compartments. Meats, crackers and cheese slices can be lined up in each compartment and the rest can be dumped in.

Secure snackle box with lock. Transport with a cooler or place in fridge until ready to eat. Enjoy!

    The Best Snackle Boxes

You can use different containers to make a snackle box charcuterie such as a tackle box, organizer box or a snacklebox. As long as it has compartments, you can build your box filled with your favorite snacks and treats. Here are some of my favorite snackle box containers:

    • Easy to Carry Snackle Box – This is by far the best snackle box that I use most often. It has an airtight seal to keep the food fresh and a handle for easy carrying.
    • 3 Layer Tackle Snackle Box– This tackle box has lots of compartments for snacks but it may not be food safe. Use this deli paper to line the compartments before adding the food.
    • Snack Box Container for Kids – This snackle box is perfect for road trips. It’s small enough for kids to hold but big enough with 8 compartments to hold plenty of snacks.

    Snackle Box Ideas for Kids

If you are taking a road trip, heading to a kids sports game or flying you will want to add snacks that will either satisfy their hunger or keep them energized. For sporting events I would suggest healthier options such as peeled clementines, granola bites, grapes, etc. When traveling pack their favorite snacks with a mix of new things they haven’t tried to keep them satisfied while on the road or in the air.

    Snackle Box Ideas for Adults

There are endless possibilities when building a charcuterie on the go for adults. I like to pack a mix of meats, beef jerky, crackers and cheeses along with some healthy items such as grapes, apple straws and non healthy items such as one or two candies.

How to Clean Your Snackle Box

Each snackle container will be cleaned differently. I like to hand wash mine but some you might be able to put in the dishwasher. Be sure to check the instructions for the one that you purchase.
