A simple crock pot method for serving hot dogs to a crowd with almost no effort.

Cooking hot dogs in a crock pot is one of the best party hacks there is. It’s an easy hands-off way to let the slow cooker do all the work while you finish prepping and getting ready for guests to arrive.
This cooking method works so well because you can cook a large batch all at once, and guests can easily grab a hot dog and customize it with their favorite toppings. We love turning this into a full hot dog bar and it’s always a hit at parties, game days and gatherings.

To make this work best, I recommend using a tall crock pot that’s at least 6 quarts so the full length of the hot dogs can stand upright and cook evenly, especially if you are using bun-length hot dogs. If you’re using traditional size hot dogs, an oval crock pot works too as long as you fill it enough so the hot dogs can stand up. If needed, you can also lay them down lengthwise.
The number of hot dogs you can make depends on the size of your crock pot. A 6 quart crock pot can hold about 50-60 hot dogs, while a 10 quart crock pot can hold up to 100. Smaller crock pots work perfectly if you’re serving fewer people.
