These Sheet Pan Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are soft and chewy with melt in your mouth chocolate chips good!
I love that there is not much effort involved for this recipe. No scooping, no rolling into balls, no spacing out the cookies. It’s so easy to make putting it all in the same pan and bake. This recipe serves 12 for a decent size cookie square but you can make the squares smaller to feed more if you need to.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
12 tbs unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup of sugar
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk only
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips (chocolate chunks work great too!)
How to Make Sheet Pan Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F. Heavily grease a 9×13 pan, or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until creamy. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, and whisk until again until well combined. Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just mixed. Stir in chocolate chips and fold until just combined. Avoid over mixing.
Transfer the thick dough mixture to your baking pan. Use the back of a spatula or hands to press the dough evenly into the pan. Bake for about 23-28 minutes, or until the top becomes a light golden brown. For a chewier version, slightly under bake.
Remove pan to a wire cooling rack. Once cooled, cut into squares for serving. Top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat!
