Get the flavor of a Philly Cheesesteak in an egg roll with this recipe for Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls! So easy to make for dinner or an appetizer!

I’ve always loved the taste of Philly Cheesesteak either in a sandwich or in a stuffed pepper and now in an egg roll. These are great to make when you get that craving packed full of flavor in a crispy shell. They make the ultimate party food paired with your favorite dipping sauce if you’re having a football party or throwing a gathering for a large crowd.

Can you make Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls in advance?

Yes, they can be make up ahead of time by preparing the egg rolls per directions below, allow to cool completely and then wrapping them individually and then placing in a freezer bag in the freezer. When ready to eat, bake from frozen at 350 degrees F for 18-20 minutes.

    Ingredients

    Serves 12

1 package (14 oz) beef shaved steak
    3 tbsp butter
    1 green bell pepper, chopped
    ½ large onion, chopped
    Sliced Provolone cheese
    Egg roll wrappers
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Oil, for frying
    Ranch, for dipping (optional)

How to Make Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls

In a large pan or flat top griddle melt half of the butter over medium high heat. Add peppers and onions and cook until softened about 3-4 minutes. Place in bowl and set aside.

Melt the other half of the butter and add the beef shaved steak to the pan seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Cook thoroughly until browned for about 3-4 minutes. Place in bowl.

Lay out an egg roll wrapper like a diamond and place ½ of a slice of cheese or full slice if you like it cheesier on the diamond nearest you leaving room to fold the flap over it.

Spoon one tablespoon of peppers and onions and then 2 tablespoons of steak on top of the cheese. Fold egg roll wrapper according to package directions and seal the edges with water as you go.

Fill your fryer or deep pan with 3 inches of oil heating to 350 degrees F. Place 3 egg rolls at a time in pan and fry 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until it is browned all over. Drain on paper towel plate.

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce such as ranch dressing.
