Decorating a small space may seem like a challenge but it can be doable with a few decorating tips. Recently we have revamped our outdoor patio as it needed a desperate makeover. Summers are usually spent outdoors so I wanted to enjoy my outdoor patio for many years to come. In just one weekend we were able to complete the makeover of my patio with a Pavilion kit that covered my paver stone patio and decorated.
To get inspired to decorate my outdoor patio, I headed to my local At Home store and “Oh My Gosh” was I ever so inspired. Throughout the store you can see examples of decorations to get the wheels in your head turning. I kind of had an idea in my head of what I wanted but it sort of changed when I walked into the At Home store. My colors were going to be red and brown with a few fun colors. Finding items for my patio at the At Home store was easy to do. They are definitely a one-stop shop for home décor that make decorating fun and affordable.
At Home stores has everything for everyone from quirky to traditional, modern to exotic. Decorating is a great way to express your personal style with a huge selection of patio furniture, home furnishings, wall décor and decorative accents, rugs and housewares. So you can take that small space and turn it into a HUGE style.
The Big Reveal….
So here is the big reveal of outdoor patio! What do you think? I am just loving this space and practically live out here. It’s so inviting with the fun pop of color. Some of the items I already had gotten before I went to the At Home store but they went together perfectly. The items that I did pick up at the At Home store to complete my outdoor space are the Cherry Cushions and the Wicker Coffee Table. My patio is not that big so I had to consider some tips when decorating to make the space functional and inviting. Here are some tips that I used to decorate my small space.
How to Decorate a Small Outdoor Patio
Clever storage solutions.
Anyway you can get some extra storage in your space is helpful. Try a table that also serves as a storage compartment or chairs that also have storage under the seat. Having storage outdoors means you can store thing away such as pillows, lights, candles, etc. especially when bad weather hits.
Add a pop of color.
Pairing the right colors together can make the space appear bigger. And color is always fun to add to any space.
Use smaller pieces of furniture.
By using small pieces of furniture such as a small table will make your space look bigger.
Less is more.
You don’t need to fill up every space on your patio. Having the patio too cluttered can make the space look smaller and overwhelming.

I agree that adding a nice pairing of colors would help your patio really pop. I would imagine that you would want to find colors that compliment each other to decorate with. I’m looking to get a patio out back so I’ll have to remember to decorate it with some color when I do get it.
