This Grinch Guacamole is the perfect holiday appetizer made with fresh ingredients and served with chips, crackers and veggies!

    Grinch Guacamole

Every Christmas needs a Grinch Guacamole for their appetizer table. Mom always said don’t play with your food but I’m giving you permission to play with it cause this Grinch Face Guacamole is just too darn cute.

Dr. Seuss How The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is by far my favorite Christmas movie of all time. My favorite part is when The Grinch is in Whoville during their gathering and they are feeding him all the food. And my favorite line is “Am I eating cause I’m bored?” – The Grinch.

    Grinch Face Guacamole

    Easy Holiday Guacamole

This guacamole is easier to make than you think. The hardest part is the shaping of The Grinch’s face. It’s best to look at a picture to get an idea from there the face will come together. To get the mouth and eyebrows to look right, I would suggest using Kalamata olives. They are longer in size and big enough to complete The Grinch face. Everything else will come together such as the tomatoes for the Santa hat and the tortilla chips for the outline of the hat and you will have a fantastic appetizer everyone will love.

    Guacamole Tips

    • It’s important to use a guacamole spice as to not change the color of the guacamole mix. If you add tomatoes and onions to your guac mix or even salsa the guacamole will change colors and your Grinch face will not be so green.
    • If you can’t find a package of guacamole spice mix, try making your own with a mix of sea salt, ground pepper, garlic powder, dried red bell pepper, chili flakes, onion powder, ground cumin and paprika.
    • Use really ripe avocados for the best tasting guac.

    Grinch Guacamole Ingredients

    4 avocados
15-20 cherry tomatoes diced (depending on size)
3 tablespoons of guacamole spice mix (we used Epicure Guacamole Dip Mix)
    2 green stuffed olives
    2 black kalamata olives
    Juice of half a lemon

How to a Make Grinch Face Guacamole

Cut all avocados in half and remove pits. Then take a spoon and slide it gently between the skin of the avocado to separate it from the flesh.

Once all avocado pieces have been properly skinned, mash them with a fork or blend in a food processor. Add your guacamole spice along with the juice of half a lemon to your avocado mash and combine well.

Place your guacamole mixture in the center of your plate and shape into a Grinch face.

Cut Kalamata olives in thin strips lengthwise and add the slices to form the Grinch’s mouth. Add two green olives for eyes making sure the red peppers are visible.

Complete the Grinch’s facial features by adding two slices of the black olives for eyebrows and a triangle diced tomato for his nose.

Place a pile of round tortilla chips at the top of Grinch’s head followed by your diced cherry tomatoes in the shape of Santa’s hat. Don’t forget to put one chip to mimic a pompom at the end of the hat.

Serve your Grinch guacamole with veggies and crackers.
