This Grinch Guacamole is the perfect holiday appetizer made with fresh ingredients and served with chips, crackers and veggies!
Every Christmas needs a Grinch Guacamole for their appetizer table. Mom always said don’t play with your food but I’m giving you permission to play with it cause this Grinch Face Guacamole is just too darn cute.
Dr. Seuss How The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is by far my favorite Christmas movie of all time. My favorite part is when The Grinch is in Whoville during their gathering and they are feeding him all the food. And my favorite line is “Am I eating cause I’m bored?” – The Grinch.
Easy Holiday Guacamole
This guacamole is easier to make than you think. The hardest part is the shaping of The Grinch’s face. It’s best to look at a picture to get an idea from there the face will come together. To get the mouth and eyebrows to look right, I would suggest using Kalamata olives. They are longer in size and big enough to complete The Grinch face. Everything else will come together such as the tomatoes for the Santa hat and the tortilla chips for the outline of the hat and you will have a fantastic appetizer everyone will love.
Guacamole Tips
- It’s important to use a guacamole spice as to not change the color of the guacamole mix. If you add tomatoes and onions to your guac mix or even salsa the guacamole will change colors and your Grinch face will not be so green.
- If you can’t find a package of guacamole spice mix, try making your own with a mix of sea salt, ground pepper, garlic powder, dried red bell pepper, chili flakes, onion powder, ground cumin and paprika.
- Use really ripe avocados for the best tasting guac.
