It’s always good to be prepared in case you are stranded on the road, a kid has an accident, etc. An easy way to be prepared is creating a Family Car Emergency Kit with all the essentials you need for these type of situations. Below is a list of items that are great to include in your car emergency kit. Depending on your family you may need to include additional items in your kit. You may even be able to find some of these items at your local dollar store.
I used the foldable cooler from my list and put all of the items for the car emergency kit in it. You can also use a storage container, tote bag or anything else that would work in your vehicle.

- Portable car jump starter
One portable car jump starter I recommend is the 1byone Multi-Function Smart Portable Car Jump Starter. It is fast charging and can jump-start a dead battery in seconds. Being that is it lightweight and a slim design makes it easy to stick into your car emergency kit or under a seat. I recommend keeping it out of direct sunlight to avoid damaging the battery.
The kit is error-proof and super safe to allow you to connect to any battery with spark-proof technology. Plus, you don’t even have to disconnect the original car battery to jump-start it. Don’t let the size fool you as this portable jump-start kit is powerful. So powerful that it can also recharge USB and other devices such as mobile phones, Sony PSP, MP3 / MP4 players, PDAs, notebooks, car refrigerators and other compatible appliances.
You can find the 1byone portable jump start kit on Amazon as it makes a great addition to any car emergency kit.
Disclosure: I was given the portable car jump starter featured in the post in exchange for my review. All opinions are 100% mine.
