This Christmas Tree Fruit & Cheese Platter is festive holiday appetizer that’s as fun to make as it is to serve. It’s bright, colorful and perfect for Christmas parties, family gatherings or holiday movie night.

    Christmas tree appetizer

Charcuterie boards are always a hit at my parties, but this year I wanted to switch things up. Instead of doing a full board, I created a fruit and cheese tray in the shape of a Christmas tree. It’s easy and impressive to guests without a lot of effort.

This platter makes the perfect starter before Christmas dinner is served and pairs beautifully with a glass of wine, cranberry mimosa or holiday sangria. You can customize with your favorite fruits and cheeses or make the platter completely out of fruit if you prefer.

    Helpful Tips and Variations

    • Start fresh: Rinse and drain all fruit before assembling.
    • Mix up the cheeses: Swap orange cheese for white using pepper jack, mozzarella or gouda.
    • Add extras: Incorporate some dried cranberries for more pops of red or add in some nuts and crackers.
    • Make it ahead: Assemble a few hours before the party, cover tightly with plastic and refrigerate until ready to serve.

    Shortcut

Save time by buying pre-cubed cheese and pre-cut fruit from the grocery store. It will make assembling easier and keeps prep to just a few minutes.
