One of the easiest breakfasts to make is overnight oats especially this Apple Pie overnight oats recipe. It changes up plain oats to a whole new level and tastes amazing. The best thing about this recipe is that the prep time is only 5 minutes and all the work is done overnight with it soaking in the fridge for 8 hours. You can make several of these the night before for a quick grab and go breakfast in the morning for the whole family. Enjoy!

    Apple Pie Overnight Oats

    Apple Pie Overnight Oats

    Yields: 2 servings

    Ingredients

1 cup oats (certified gluten free oats may be used if necessary)
1 cup milk of your choice
    ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 tablespoon maple syrup
    ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

    Topping Ingredients

    1 small apple, diced
    ¼ cup pecans, chopped
    Extra cinnamon for sprinkling

What kind of oats should I use to make overnight oats?

There are a variety of oats you can use to make overnight oats such as steel cut oats, rolled oats and quick oats. And you can use any kind of brand that you will like. Most of the time I use just store brand oats and they taste just as good as any other brand.

    Directions

Place oats in a 16 oz glass mason jar.

Add the milk, maple syrup, applesauce and cinnamon.

Screw the lid on the jar and give it a shake. Place the jar in the refrigerator overnight.

When ready to eat the next day, give the jar a shake again to allow all of the ingredients to blend. Remove the lid and place chopped apples and pecans on top. Sprinkle on a little extra cinnamon if desired.

May be enjoyed cold or warm.

Notes: Overnight oats may be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days before consuming.
