These Mickey Mouse Hot Chocolate Bombs are magical from start to finish! Just add hot milk for a delicious surprise!

    Mickey Mouse Hot Chocolate Bombs

The hot cocoa bomb craze is not going away and I just cannot stop making them. These Mickey Mouse hot cocoa bombs are just as cute as my Gingerbread House Cocoa Bombs are.

We are huge Disney fanatics in our house so it just made sense to make a Disney theme hot chocolate bomb. I’ve already made Disney Frozen hot cocoa bombs and really wanted to do a Mickey Mouse one. They turned out so good and magically melts before your eyes!

How to Make Mickey Mouse Hot Chocolate Bombs

These hot cocoa bombs are easy and so fun to make! They are made with hot chocolate mix, red, black and yellow candy melts and marshmallows. You will also need a silicone semi-sphere mold to create the cocoa bomb shape. They also make a great, inexpensive gift or a sweet holiday addition to a hot cocoa bar.

    Hot Chocolate Bomb Tips

    • Don’t overcook the chocolate.
    • Use melting chocolates.
    • Use a hot plate to seal the two chocolate molds together to make a hot chocolate bomb.
    • Secure ears using candy melts and a dab of melted chocolate.
    • Make sure the chocolate is firm before building and after decorating.
    • If you don’t want any fingerprints on the chocolate bombs you can wear food safe gloves.
    • To store, keep them in an airtight container in fridge to avoid melting.
    • To give as a gift, just wrapped in cellophane, tie with a bow or ribbon and add a gift tag.

    Mickey Hot Chocolate Bomb Ingredients

    Red candy melts chocolate, melted
    Black candy melts chocolate, melted
    Yellow candy melts chocolate, melted
Disposable piping bag or zip lock bag
    Mini marshmallows
    Hot cocoa mix

    Will Also Need

    Semi-Sphere silicone mold
    Bowl
    Spoon
    Hot Milk
    Cup

How to Make Mickey Hot Chocolate Bombs

Add red chocolate to one bowl and melt in microwave in 30 second increments stirring in between until creamy and smooth. Repeat this step for the black chocolate.

Fill the molds with red melted chocolate on one side and black melted chocolate on the side. Make sure to only fill the sides of the mold all the way to the top and keeping the inside hollow. Use the back of a spoon to guide the chocolate throughout the mold.

Place in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes or until they are easy to pop out. Very carefully remove the chocolate from the mold. If they don’t pop out easily, place back in freezer for a few more minutes.

In the red half add cocoa mix and some mini marshmallows on top.

Heat a plate in the microwave for about 15 seconds, carefully taking it out cause the plate will be hot. Take the black chocolate half and smooth and press the open part onto the hot plate for a few seconds to melt the chocolate and twist a bit to smooth the edges. Connect the two half pieces of chocolates together and seal together. Allow to dry.

For the ears take 2 black chocolate candy melts and using a knife cut a straight edge on candy melt.

In a bowl, melt some black candy melts in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until creamy and smooth. Dip the straight edge of the candy melt into melted chocolate and place the ear melted chocolate side down onto the top of the hot cocoa bomb. Repeat these steps for the other ear making sure they are spaced apart. Place in freezer for a few minutes to harden.

In a bowl, melt some yellow candy melts in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until creamy and smooth. Place in a disposable piping bag or zip lock bag with the tip cut off.

Pipe 2 yellow buttons on the front of the red side of the cocoa bomb. Place back in freezer for a few minutes to allow to harden.

Thank you for posting this. I plan on making these soon with the grandkids. If I could just make one comment, it would be to suggest that you use NON latex gloves to avoid fingerprints. Many people have severe latex allergies and using latex gloves could really make them ill.

Thank you so much for pointing that out. It’s something that I missed and fixed it. Enjoy making them with the grandkids. They are so much fun!
