The Grinch Punch is a twist on traditional sherbet punch and the color green makes it just perfect for Christmas!
Sherbet Punch is a punch drink, often served at parties and other celebrations. Traditionally, it’s made with sherbet and lemon-lime soda for a refreshing taste that isn’t too sweet or heavy. You can use almost any type of juice to create a new flavor. Try some of these different Sherbet Punch types at your next party!
Sherbet Punch Variations
The Soda Type
Lemon-lime soda is the traditional sherbet punch ingredient, but you can substitute it with orange juice. If you’re feeling adventurous, try pineapple or even cranberry juice instead to give the drink a twist. You can also use lemonade for a slightly sweeter version that’s great during summer time.
The Alcohol Type
Sherbet Punch is often served without alcohol, but you can add some vodka or rum to make it even better. If you’re having a festive gathering, spice the drink up by adding some liqueurs like Cointreau or Triple Sec. This gives it a nice flavor that complements any cake well.
The Sherbet Type
There are a lot of sherbet flavors you can use for the drink, but the better choice is to go with citrus flavors. Lemon-lime or pineapple sherbet makes for great choices. You can also try some orange sherbets, which taste good even when combined with citrus juices like lemon and lime.
Garnish Variations
The garnish for Sherbet Punch can be anything you want, but some of the most popular choices are lemon slices, orange wedges and pineapple chunks. You can also throw in some maraschino cherries to give it a sweeter flavor. These are classic ingredients that work well with any version of the drink.
Make it Sweet
Any type of sweetener will do for Sherbet Punch. Your choice will depend on how you want it to taste, but in most cases, regular sugar does the trick. Just add a little at a time to make sure the drink doesn’t become too sweet.
Change the Color
You can customize the color of Sherbet Punch by using different sherbets or juice flavors. You also have the option to add some food coloring, but this isn’t necessary for most cases. Just mix it well with whatever ingredients you’re using to create the perfect color.
